New Listing! Rainbow Vintage Style Necklace

Doesn't it remind you of Easter Eggs?
This necklace began by linking together colorful lucite balls to form a chain of color. Coordinating lucite flowers and swarovski crystals were grouped together on either side and my favorite chunky bronze etched cross chain was linked to the rainbow...all tied together using an antiqued bronze swirly toggle clasp. The end result is a beautiful 19 inch necklace that will brighten up your wardrobe throughout all the seasons!

Thank You Etsy Bot!!

I miss EtsyBot...loved the little avatar and the fact that EtsyBot retweeted over 55,000 Etsians to over 10,000 people.

I loved the EtsyBot Tips, such as:

Tip #22: If you create a blog, do write-ups showing how to use/wear the items you are selling. People like to see the items in "action"!

Tip #16: In your twitter bio, don't just tell about yourself, tell people about your shop! You can even place a short link to your blog!

EtsyBot left the final message in the Bio section of this twitter channel:

I NO LONGER SUPPORT @ because @ DOESN'T SUPPORT YOU - Shutting down after ReTweeting Etsians over 55,000 times to over 10,000 people. - CLOSED

So I just wanted to say thank you EtsyBot for all that you did for the Etsy community!  I know I really appreciated it!! :)

Error Messages From Google Feed

Many of us have been receiving messages from Google Feed over the past few days saying something to the effect of "no items have been inserted".  According to what have I read on the Etsy Forums, this is just a Google glitch dating back to when we used to be able to upload our own feed. Now, if our shops are syndicated, etsy does it for us. for some reason Google is reactivating something and sending out these failure messages, but actually Etsy is still handling our feed for us.  The simplest way to avoid receiving these messages is to delete this old feed since it's against Google's rules for us to submit Etsy items ourselves so the feeds will always be rejected. This can be done by logging into Google Merchant and deleting them here: http://www.google.com/merchants/bulkuploads

Have You Discovered Pinterest Yet?

Have you discovered Pinterest yet?  Pinterest is a social catalog service.  Think of it as a virtual pin board where you can collect and share your favorite things.  You can also follow people who also have a love of wonderful things.  The photographs are extraordinary!  And many of our handmade peeps are there!
The first thing I did was drag the Pin It link to my bookmarks bar.  This way, anywhere I am on the web, I can add something that strikes me to one of my boards...or start a new board based on what I've found.
There are many different boards you can make.  You can customize the default boards you receive on your page and add as many new types of boards as you want.
I have just begun to play with the different boards as a promotional tool for my Etsy Shop and to help promote my fellow handmade artisans.  I created one for my jewelry designs, one for treasuries that I have been featured in and for the ones I've curated.    I have a board for blog posts that either have featured me, posts from my own blog where I featured other artisans, and plan to use it to gather together really good blogs to read.  I also have a board of all the things on Etsy I love.  And here's one I made about Favorite Places and Spaces...

There are many different creative ideas for individual boards:
  • How about a storyboard? This is one of my favorite ways to map out future goals!
  • Create a board to plan a wedding, an special event, or even help choose a vacation spot
  • Use a board to develop a design or DIY project
  • How about a Recipe or food board...low fat, gluten free, or just plain yummy
  • A Gift Idea Board...a great way to organize gift ideas for family and friends
The possibilities are endless!  Why not request an invite from Pinterest and let the inspiration begin!
