She uses art glass, dichroic, copper wire, sterling wire, crystals and beads of many kinds. In addition to jewelry, Monique also does decorative stained glass pieces. You can take a peek at all her creations in her Etsy shop. She also gives parties which gives her an opportunity to be up close to her customers...and for those living in the Tampa area...I hear she gives great hostess gifts!
In the artist's own words: " I really enjoy making things that have the ability to put a smile on peoples' faces, and that is after all the main aim of art; to bring pleasure to the viewer or wearer."

The Etsy Jewelry Corner Visits TJB Designs!!
We are taking a bit of a departure this week to show you another kind of bling...as we visit Tommye Bunce of TJB Designs! Here you will find beautifully beaded scissor fobs, threaders, counting & marking pins, as well as knitting and crochet stitch markers. She also creates wonderful bookmarks in several styles and additional accessories.
Tommye is a retired software engineer and needlework shop owner. She loves stitching and teaching stitching. According to Tommye, counted thread needlework appeals to her logical mind and soothes her soul. She enjoys cross stitch, hardanger, drawn thread, and especially band samplers. When she is not stitching...she is knitting!
The cornerstone of her shop are her scissor fobs and coordinating counting pins for needlepoint and cross stitch as well as stitch markers for knitters and crocheters. In the artist's own words, here is how that product line got started: "I love gadgets, especially embroidery scissors. Hence, the creation of beautiful scissor fobs. I started out trying to think of something to make for the ladies in my stitch group and before I knew it I had about 2 dozen fobs designed! And most stitchers can use all the help they can get with counting, so I added counting pins for needlepoint and cross stitch. And then a friend suggested I make stitch markers for knitters and voila! Adding bling to your needlework is just plain fun..."

My Sister's Wreath
My sister Jude made this beautiful wreath using vines from her own back yard. She added silk and dried flowers and tied it with a gorgeous ribbon. When I moved into the cottage, it was the first thing I hung up. It went perfect on the front porch. One spring day I came home and realized there was an addition added to Jude's beautiful wreath...a robin's nest. The babies were born a couple of week's ago and this Saturday, the last one flew away. Talk about empty nest syndrome!
It was amazing to watch and they seemed to accept me as part of the community. Adult robins perched strategically in all the surrounding trees and came to the rescue of the babies whenever they thought there might be danger...like when a crow came too close.
The last hesitant baby hung out by my chair, working up the courage to fly. It took alot of persuasion from both me and the other robins but he finally did it! So cool!
